The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking a full-time pathologist with subspecialty expertise in Hematopathology for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor without Tenure for reasons of funding.  The successful candidate will have an M.D. (or foreign equivalent) and board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology (American Board of Pathology) and board subspecialty certification (or eligibility) in Hematopathology.  Clinical responsibilities include reporting of morphology for lymph nodes, tissue and marrows, flow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) and molecular diagnostic testing in the Hematopathology Laboratory at the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, as well as teaching hematology / hematopathology to students, residents and fellows.  Applicants are expected to be involved in administrative aspects of the lab including new test development, possess a scholarly record of publication and develop an area of focused research / scholarly work. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
