The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a faculty hematopathologist at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Member (equivalent to the rank of Professor at other academic institutions). This recruitment is to a new position in a growing academic department and is taking place at an exciting time in the development of clinical laboratory services and the institution. The successful candidate will have skills in histopathology, cytology, flow cytometry, and molecular pathology, must have a record of scholarly achievements, be board-certified in AP or AP/CP, and be board-certified or eligible for board certification in Hematology.
The position will be on the Clinician Track, and an effort of approximately 40% will be devoted to activities associated with the St. Jude Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) program. The GPM program has been considerably strengthened in the last few years, with the appointment of a new Director, Dr. Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo, and is now active in several regions worldwide, including Central and South America, the Middle East, and South East Asia. Pathology at St. Jude currently has two faculty actively engaged in GPM, providing support for anatomic pathology and microbiology. The new hematopathologist will join this team and be expected to provide support for the development of hematopathology services at our GPM affiliates. A track record in Global Medicine or clinical service development is desirable, and the ideal candidate will speak a second language of relevance to GPM activities.
