The Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking a MD or MD Ph.D. academic hematopathologist.
The Department of Pathology seeks a hematopathologist at the assistant or associate professor level. The hematopathology service supports the University of Michigan Hospitals and Comprehensive Cancer Center which include large allogeneic adult and pediatric bone marrow / hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation programs; extensive specialized lymphoma, leukemia, and multiple myeloma programs; and broad-based general hospital services. The hematopathology service encompasses bone marrow and lymph node pathology, a busy outside case consultation service, flow cytometry, and general and special hematology laboratories. The Department of Pathology operates MLabs, a service line-based outreach program that includes high volume or haematopathology-related case material including cytogenetics and molecular diagnostics activity.
The successful applicant will have a strong interest in general clinical haematopathology with an interest in translational research. Appointment will be at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor (clinical track), commensurate with the candidate's level of experience, accomplishments, and track record of academic achievement. In addition to clinical service responsibilities, the faculty member will be expected to participate fully in the Departmental academic and educational programs.
