WMSH1803: Plasmablastic Lymphoma

This Case of the Quarter will educate participants on the revised 2016 WHO classification of plasmablastic lymphoma. The presentation will incorporate a clinical case to show the typical clinical presentation and course, morphology, immunophenotype, and ancillary findings of plasmablastic lymphoma including a brief discussion of the diagnostic work-up and differential diagnosis of this rare entity. This case is presented in an electronic format and aimed at practicing pathologists and pathology trainees who diagnose hematolymphoid malignancies. This Case of the Quarter is available from the ASCP education store. This activity provides 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CMETM credit. THE DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY AND LABORATORY MEDICINE
Description: The University of California (UC), Davis, School of Medicine seeks to hire a full-time clinical pathologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Clinical (X) or the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This position is an academic physician- educator/investigator to grow clinical, teaching and creative programs in hematopathology. Training and expertise in molecular hematopathology, coagulation, and informatics is highly desirable. Clinical duties will primarily involve hematopathology and clinical hematology/coagulation services. Teaching duties may include clinical, didactic, and small group teaching of housestaff and medical students, interdisciplinary conferences to housestaff and faculty, and curriculum development in subspecialty areas. Participation in the research mission of the institution is expected, either as a collaborator or as the intellectual leader of clinically-oriented research projects pertinent to the candidate's areas of expertise and subspecialty training, depending on academic series chosen for appointment.
Requirements: MD or MD/PhD, and be board certified in anatomic and/or clinical pathology along with board certification or eligibility in hematopathology. The ability to maintain a high level of service, work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain excellent relationships with medical and technical staff, trainees, and others are all required, and have an appropriate record of accomplishment in clinical care, teaching and research to meet requirements for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in one of the University of California's clinically-intensive academic series (Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series). California professional license or eligibility for licensure in California is required.
